About Red Gum Counselling & Social Work
El Keulemans is an Accredited Social Worker with a Bachelor of Social Work (Hons) from University of Newcastle (1999) and 25 years experience providing counselling, casework, groupwork, supervision, training and consultation.
El has provided counselling across the lifespan: children, young people and adults of all ages.
El has maintained high levels of professional education, including study towards a Post Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Practice (UNE) specialist training in working victims/survivors of violence abuse and neglect (ECAV), and attained competencies in trauma and violence informed practice and intersectional practice (ECAV). El is Circle of Security Registered Parenting Educator.
Qualifications & Experience
El recognises people’s resilience and capacity for growth. She brings a hopeful, responsive and engaging approach that upholds each persons dignity, autonomy, and human rights. She has a trauma informed and violence informed care approach and prioritises people’s sense of safety and choice. Counselling is tailored to each person’s preferences and needs.
El has training and experience in:
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Trauma-Based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (TB-ACT)
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Attachment focussed therapies such as PACE Model, Neurosequential Model, Interactional Guidance, Attachment Regulation & Competency (ARC).

El has 25 years of social work and counselling experience.
Counselling with children (under 12 years), young people and adults.
Counselling with parents / carers and children.
Recovery from trauma and violence (including domestic & family violence, child abuse and sexual violence, and elder abuse).
Building wellbeing and mental health.
Collaborations to enhance parenting and parent / child connection.
Growing and sustaining your role as a carer.
Adjustment to loss, change and grief.
Victims Services funded and private counselling. No Medicare or private health rebates currently available.
Counselling
Supervision, Consultation and Training
In person and telehealth.
Social Work clinical supervision for Social Workers, helping professionals, human service workers, DFV sector workers and health workers.
Individuals or team supervision, consultation or training.
Reflective supervision that supports professional growth and development, enhances practice skills, improves self reflection and self awareness, builds sustainability of practice and improved management of vicarious trauma.
Counselling: From $180 / hour (45-55 minutes).
